Summary of my Car

MY2002 (Late MY)

My car was once turbo. I had my injector clips cut and re-connected back to stock.
The person who put my turbo together (idiot) also cut my air pump connector and o2 sensor connector.. don

Looking at the Helms schematics, the 00's - 03's Headlight Inverter/Igniter gets grounded out at G301; (04' + shares ground with Pwr windows @G501.) Gauge assy gets grounded @ G501.

G501 is behind left kick panel above the hood release. Probably a bad splice somewhere.

I'd inspect all the wiring that you know has been tampered with... o2 sensor, air pump harness, G501 and splices. If you have an aftermarket alarm or aftermarket radio w/accessories, I'd check to see what those are tied off into.. Electrical problems aren't fun!

I strongly recommend getting a Helms manual/electrical book if you plan on troubleshooting this yourself.

Good luck and check the obvious things first!

EDIT: Looking at the Ground Distro chart for G501 shows the following items are grounded by G501: Keyless Door Lock CU, Pass. Wdw sw., Gauge Assy, Headlights Low Beam, Pwr wdw master sw, Pwr mirror sw, driver's door latch, eng. start sw, cruise contr main sw., conv, top cu, rear defog sw....

G501 and splices sounds like a winner!

Have you checked the earth strap that connects the engine to the chassis? I believe it is to the rear of the engine.

If youre talking about the one thats on the engine head (by the firewall), yes.
I pulled my engin head on Sat and she was on there nice and tight.

I cant remember of any others.

He's talking about the one that runs from the engine to the frame on driver's side. You have to crawl under the car to see it.
