Engine expired
Hey guysWell, Im not too happy. The previous owner of my car had an engine rebuild using a F22 (originally F20) when he suffered oil starvation on track. That was 25k kilometers ago. The car has since always been regularly serviced at Honda dealership.
So I was driving home the other night, going about 175, with normal revs in sixth, and lost the whole lot. Have since taken it to Honda and upon inspection they have stated I need a complete new engine - Aed32k (about US$9k)
They have said neither the block or head can be saved, so I need both. They can however only supply the F20.
Locally I can buy a used engine and have it installed for around US$2500 but there is no guarantee I wont face the same thing further down the road. The Honda option will of course have a warranty.
I have taken a few pics which I will post in a bit, but Honda assure me there is no hope for the old engine. they have offerd a 35% discount to get it closer to the 2nd hand option price.
I just want some advice on which way to go as I am sure people have had similar horror stories and want to learn from others prior to making the decision.
The other thing Honda have noted is the Exedy clutch plate has only about 5k left in it, and suggest replacing, but are saying the whole thing (flywheel etc) needs doing at the same time as you shouldnt have old with new. Is this just BS? I dont want to lose the exedy set up I have really.
Thanks in advance for the help guys, Im absolutely gutted.

Fock the dealership... They like to BS alot about random shit just to rob u for your hard earn cash!
