Default Engine knock/tick on cold start (2x video)

Hi,

My S2000 (2001, 243000km) is knocking on a cold start. When the car is warm, nothing to hear. Rev's good, does not smoke, burns little oil (1liter a 1500km). I've change oil 3 times the last 10000km's. The car is mine now for 4 months. 5w40 Castrol Egde Turbo Diesel and Shell Helix Ultra 0w40. The sound and noise does not change. Replaced the timing chain tensioner to eliminate that, for a brand new one. Valves are adjusted and the sound does not changed.

Maybe someone does recognize the sound it makes.

Car is stock.

Thanks in advance for your ideas.

Open the hood, rev the engine slightly. Does sound like bent valve. How does it run?

Heres how my bent valve sounded(it was only 1 intake valve)

Did the bent valve sound go away after it warmed up?

I read somewhere this might be piston slap that goes away as the engine warms up but that does sound a little loud.

i'd be happy that it goes away when warmed up.

I'll try to make a new video when cold, and a video when warm. The sound dissapears when the car is warm. After a minute or 5 it's completely gone.

Piston slap, how does this occur? Car runs good, power is good. Engine doesn't run that smooth as my 2002 facelift model. But it's okay i think. Smoke in VTEC is not always and very light.

Could it be due to cracked valve retainers?

probably from being driven hard? doesn't run as smooth is probably an indicator of some sort of increased wear relative to the 2002. could you describe what not as smooth means?

smoke in VTEC sounds like a problem, maybe valve seals?

i don't think cracked valve retainers would make a noise that goes away when warm, but you should inspect these regardless.

Here a new very cold start. Sorry for the sound. The sound disappears after a few minutes, when warming up.

The little smoke in VTEC is only visible when someone drives behind me in the dark with some good lights in second gear.

Maybe the now as smooth is because the 2002 S2000 sounds cold more sweat. The yellow one does sound a little bit noisier like mij H22A8 prelude.
