Default engine movement

So, I was in a wreck about six months ago, gettin my car back just about 2 weeks ago, and it is still not complete!

However, come to find out during the wreck(hit from behind)- the entire engine block jumped forward about a quarter to a half inch. Is this dangerous, a problem, not something to worry about?

Besdies balance issues(center of grav), what other problems can this cause? I was planing on installing a new header soon...could this create a problem with the install?

Thanks
Drew

Check the motor mounts for damage.

Definitly check the motor mounts! May problems can become of this. For example a wire harness may now be under tension or kinked and pinched which could wear out the insulation causing a short to ground and or a fire. That is one of many things that I can think of.. Play it safe and have it evaluated.

In just about any accident the rubber bushings in the engine mounts will tear and need to be replaced. It won't cause any real damage but they should be replaced anyway. Not cheap!
