Default Engine oil leak

Im looking for some insight as to the oil leakage problem that my 2002 S2k is having. I'm seeing Engine oil on the front of the sub-frame (which is in front of the actual motor). It also seems to be on the walls inside the engine compartment indicating that it is being sprayed out of whatever it is coming from. The leak appears to originate from somewhere around the oil filter. Ive replaced the oil cooler o-ring, the oil filter with a Honda Oem, and ive replaced the vtec solenoid gasket. Ive also done the valve cover gasket right after I bought the car. It would be greatly appreciated if anyone has any suggestions as to what it could be.

The leak is either from the top of the vtec solenoid gasket or the oil pressure sensor gasket which screw into the vtec solenoid. If you touch under the sensor it should be wet with oil.

You did check carefully replacing the oil filter that no rubber was left behind from the old one? There have been threads on engine fires from filter leaks. As far as tightening it, did you use a tool to go 7/8ths of a turn after gasket contact? It may be difficult to do by hand.
It has happened.

Thanks for the input guys. Found the issue and its not one that I am happy about. Its the infamous vtec solenoid top half gasket. The one that only comes as a whole with the vtec solenoid. FML... so it looks like ill need to get another solenoid; unless anyone else has a genius idea that does not involve hondabond

Billman250 was going to see if an Accord vtec solenoid gasket would work on our solenoid, but I never heard of the result if he was able test it or not.

Do not use honda bond. The ports for oil are very small and you will surely starve the top of the engine for oil.

Accord gasket is no good.

Working on others....

Can you retorque the 3 10mm bolts on top of the VTEC Solenoid to 8.7 ft lbs and see if that helps?
