Engine Orientation
I'm looking at putting the S2000 engine in a mid engine car with limited room.
Can the engine be mounted perpendicular if the oil pickup is modified to allow correct pickup?
In the s2000 it is leaning a bit to the side - I don't have room to lean - is there any oil drain issues in the head or block that require a slight angled install?
Thanks -

What tranny are you going to use?
I've been looking for a tranny to mount the S engine either longitudinally or transverse for some time now.
Inline pro has a kit to mate to the Civic tranny, but it's $4,000

Nah - you guys are too new school for me.
Looking at mounting longitudinally in a Lotus Europa - going into a 5 speed Renault transaxle.
1600 Pounds + 240 HP = Fun
So - If I'm reading the responses right - oil pick is the only isuse?

It has not been done as far as I know - there is a car in Canada with a Honda engine but it is not the S2000 engine.
The Renault engine does sit front to rear - will be doing the same with the Honda.
Looks like it fits in frame - now to get it to mate up to the transaxle - using a destroyed engine block now as a fitment buck. Just got a crank and flywheel to get needed dimensions.
LONG WAY to go....
