Engine problem
[QUOTE=jeggy,Oct 15 2005, 04:13 PM] a story my service writer told me not to long ago.
a lady pulls into a shell gas station and pumps $2 worth of regular gas and gets a recipt. less than a day later her car is running worse than a fat guy in a triathalon. she takes it into the dealer and they find that she has deasil fuel in her tank. her engine is wasted. fuel lines, injectors, valves, all clogged.

they told her that the tanker guy put diesel fuel in the regular underground tank. she showed them her $2 gas receipt and repair invoice and they had no other choice than to pay for repairs to her vehicle. without that receipt she would have been screwed.
ever since i heard that story i have gotten a receipt everytime i fill up.

other than the fact that the car would run like total crap diesel wont hurt any components except MAYBE the cat and O2 sensors.
someone put diesel into a car i had at work a couple years ago (03 towncar) and it ran like complete ass. popping, stalling, smoke.
drain the tank. fill with gas. ran poor for about 30 seconds. go out and beat on it and the car ran like new.
