Engine problem
Hello,
I recently bought a used '02 s2000 and it has been running fine til recently. I was wondering where to look for advice/help before I took it in to the shop so I know where I should be looking over at so the mechanics or I myself don't touch anything else. The only thing I really did touch was the TCT due to the rattling noise. I dremeled it and the sound (barely) came back after like 600 miles or so. The real problem here is the accelerating. Whatever gear I am in, and if I were to floor it or even try to put in more than usual gas the engine will just rev and the car will not pull. It feels like the engine is just revving with the car barely moving along with it. The rpm just goes up and up when the speed doesn't change much. It first happened couple days ago, so I am a bit panicking ://. It doesn't always do this (2nd day driving with this issue) because I tried to see if V-tec would still kick in and it does if I engage it properly... I am 99.9999% sure that it is not the driver... haha
wish that was the issue T__T. but anyhow... only mods in the car are coils and custom intake. Also after the revving (accelerating while in gear and the car just revs) really bad smell comes out soo.... it seems like an issue and I dont want to f@#k up the motor ://
Also another thing I noticed was a weird grinding sound when I start the engine. This sound is rare but... the day like this revving problem happened, the engine made that sound and today as well... and I went on a short drive to check this out... i started the engine, warmed it up and problem still existed... and it feels like it was worse than before (in a day's time)... sigh
**PS I also had a PPI done to the car before purchase. and the mechanic said it was pretty clean /top notch condition... feel like he was a shady bastard -_- is there anything i can do since i had a ppi done?? i read somewhere about being able to approach the person if any engine problems came up

I'm not familiar with issues that come with clutches when they are worn out.... is that one of the issues? because my friend (who is an evo driver) has several experience with effed clutches and he said the clutch was fair and was wondering if this was still the stock one (because it felt clean and not mushy)
^ What these guys said. The engine is revving as it should when you press the accelerator, but that power isn't getting to the wheels because the clutch is worn out. RPMs climbing without the car accelerating is indicative of a worn out clutch.

I went back with the stock clutch but many will tell you they're not the best. I really don't race and got 80k out of my original clutch, so that's what sold me.
