HI,

After stopping somewhere for an hour I had problems starting my car. After a few tries it started but was running very rough.

The engine fault light was blinking, I thought it should be the ignition or injection and , because I could not stay parked there I decided that I would try to drive to the garage slowly, anyway the acceleration was very poor.

after a few miles, She suddenly accelerated as the problem disappeared, continued to the garage anyway and the hookup computer determined that the nr1 and 3 cilinders had had no ignition.

As the problem disappeared as suddenly as it came, thy could not determine the cause, so try and see if it comes back was the answer.

Has anyone had this problem or heard about it??

Thanks, Cu

hmmm... 37000 miles, eh? I bet the computer knows you just ran out of warranty!..... Let me think.... I think the computer decided the Honda dealer needed some extra cash and stopped providing power to those cylinders. When you kept driving, it decided the ruse was not working, and went back to normal operation.

This sounds like an ignition problem. Loose electrical connectors or something? Maybe the car got wet under the hood recently... Unfortunately, intermittent faults tend to be a pain to find.

Fortunately, the ECM will know. Take the car to a dealer and have them check it out. You are close enough to the warranty period, insist that they cover it. They usually will, be sure to be verbose when explaining how disappointed you are this happened 1k after the warranty expired... they will usually be helpful!

Your ECM will have stored the code and should pinpoint the problem.

This is just a shot in the dark, but since the ECM showed misfires in #1 and #3, did they check your spark plugs for tightness? Quite a few of us have experienced loose plugs that may be related to your ignition problem. It's easy to check and may save future heartache.

Hihihi *lol* that's a good one, ,but in fact waranty is not a problem since here in Europe (Belgium) it's 62,150 miles (100,000 Km) / 3 years.

But I was pissed off because this is my first car I bought brandnew, my previous one 1600/16 V CRX had 160.000 miles!!!! I pushed it to/beyond the limits a lot, with no problems at all.

Anyway i'm trying to get the spark plug cover off, but it is a bit hard to get the screws loose (I read the posts about this problem)

Checked mine they were all tight but I possibly had a misfire due to poor condition of the spark plugs.
