engine problems AP1
Hey guys, just this morning started up the s2k and this really bad smell comes out of the exhaust more like rotten eggs, but the exhaust color is normal no change there, as i accelarate the car vibrates and the revs on idle go up and down a little, i had a look on google for what these symptoms are its reffering to coilpack problems, is this true any help would be aprreciated.
ehhh, rotten eggs? well, think of it as sulfur burning. Check fuel injectors, or even your catalyc converter.
Do you use injector cleaning stuff?
Also, check to see if your leaking any fluids by your differential or gearbox (tranny).
You could be burning exess fluid drips of you changed the trans fluid or diff fluid lately.
But this is my .02. Not sure if it will help you.

If an automobile battery is in normal condition, there should be very little smell from it. The one smell that you should be aware of is the smell of rotten eggs, which indicates severe and dangerous problems with the battery. Once a battery begins to smell like rotten eggs, it cannot be saved, but must be immediately replaced. Please be aware that rotten-egg batteries can explode. Rotten-egg batteries are frequently much hotter than normal batteries would be, and the hot rotten-egg batteries are the most dangerous. The most common cause of rotten-egg batteries is an alternator which constantly overcharges, so the alternator should usually be replaced along with the battery.

it sits on 130000 kms, 99 model, i regularly service it, and spark plugs are 20000km's old and they last up to 80000km's apparently, no mods done to the car its full stock, its not leaking any oils either, just struggling to go and has that bad smell, gears change as normal, i called honda they said it could be the cat converter maybe rubber issues but dont know for certain.
I am assuming your running super rich..or your catalytic converter is shot. In either case you would have a check engine light, a little yellow symbol on your dash after you start your car or possibly while driving. Do you have one on, either steady on or flashing when driving?
