Arrow Engine revs but car does not respond! Help!

While i'm driving, and this is in any gear at any speed, at the moment I step on the accelerator with a significant amount of force, all I hear is the engine rev. and rpm's go up but it takes a while for the S to catch up and finally kick into gear If I just keep it at a low rpm, the car is fine. Any help? I have 150,000 miles on the car, if that's any help?
Thanks

Just out of curiosity, how many miles are on your clutch?

Well I got the S with 90,000 miles. Don't know if the previous owner replaced or not. So that I know of 60,000 Miles, but it could have the whole 150,000 miles on it.

S clutches usually last between 70 and 80,000 miles mine was done at 77,500. its probly been done once already....unless the pervious owner did 90,000 of pure freeway driving.
