Default Engine Sound okay?

Hey everyone i just did a valve adjustmet and upgraded to ap2 retainers. Does my engine sound to loud, i dont know if they are usually this loud. It sounds like its clicking, but the engine runs perfect and im basically 99.9% i adjusted the valves correctly. My dad said it's one of the smoothest running engines he's heard in person, im just not sure.

Valves:
Intake were light at .25mm
Exhaust had very light drag at .25mm

Here's the link for the video:

Come to think of it, i did adjust the valves pretty lose, especially the intake valves. I just dont want to go to tight and burn a valve or something O_O is it bad to run an engine with 'lose' valves?

Billman would probably know what's going on here lol

That sounds like way too loose... mine doesn't sound anything like that after adjust I did month ago.

...suspect that the intake valves are bit too loose with "light drag at .25mm" as .25mm shouldn't almost fit since its the upper limit...

anyhow read this http://robrobinette.com/S2000ValveAdjust.htm (just in case you missed something etc)

and I would at least check them again..

I adjusted the valves to .022mm in the intake and .026 on the exhuast and it's still loud lol. I think these cars are just loud, as long as it runs correctly, i dont mind the noise, it is in fact a sports car, not a mercedes haha

Um, looser = louder. If they are too tight, valve burning tight, engine is noticibly quieter. Yours are now set much looser than spec so I'd expect them to be louder than normal.

I suggest you go back and set them to spec.

Read up above i had them looser than this. I'd consider my current adjustment to be on the tighter aspect of the scale.

Sorry to resurrect my old thread but now thinking about this, could this be a worn out tct?

I adjusted my valves a couple weeks ago to .022 intake and .026 exhaust so it cant be the valves lol

maybe. I believe you are mixing the units with wrong spec. You are still mentioning 0.022, which has one more zero. If you live in US, your gauge is probably using imperial units (inches). that's why you are keep saying 0.022 even though the number you saw on the manual is 0.22. If my guess is right, your valve is way too loose.

anyways, either 0.022 inches or mm are totally out of spec. 0.022 inches is too loose, 0.022mm is too tight.

correct spec is 0.22mm or 0.008 inches.

Check your gauge. If the smallest gauge starts from 0.001 or 0.002 whatever three decimal points, it's imperial so you need to use the one with 0.008

also, youtube worn out TCT and hear how it sounds like compared to yours.
