Default Engine and tranny question

One of my buddies will be doing an LSX swap in his 2006 and I have the opportunity to buy his engine and transmission(along with all the other small pieces- complete). It's got a little over 110,000 miles on the odo and runs good. What would be a good price on this? He's asking for $3,500.

I appreciate your input

I think that's an OK price. You're definitely not getting a deal IMO

Anything under 3 would be great especially since the tranny is included. It has 110000 miles on it. Use that as leverage to lower the price. There are lower mileage motors or sale for around that price.

For a fully loaded engine with an ap2 trans that price is very good.

I bought a 2007 motor (no trans) for 2900, with 29k miles.

So, my oil just vanished! No leaks in the driveway! One day I start the car and I hear what sounds like a crank bearing Does anyone know where I can find a S2k gasket set reasonably priced? I suppose that I will have to learn how to take the engine out and send the short block to the machine shop. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I would call a salvage network to check comparable prices. The later model year increases the value but the high miles drops it. It sounds like a fair price as you know what you are getting.

Oh wow, just ask a random question in someone else s thread. Good job

Anyways, yea look around to see what the asking price is and use the high miles to help get you a great deal. Besides, you know the guy and the car well it sounds like.
