I have DTC1 (one flash) show up when I short #4 and #9 for diags on my Electric Power Steering (EPS) assist. That code maps to a stuck relay per the service manual, which I assume is in the EPS unit. Any thoughts on how to fix this? Do I need a new EPS unit, or should I just go down to Vato Zone and get the "tamper proof" wrenches to open the unit up?

Thoughts welcomed. Anyone have good recommendations on junkyards around that would sell me a used EPS?

I dont know why this is in FI, but I am selling mine off of my 01 if you are intetrested.

I deleted the eps and abs, so whatever you need i probably have it

 

Are you sure the relay is part of the module itself? If you do need one I just came across this on ebay if it helps

Thanks for the help. I had a person ping me from another forum & made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Am going to try his EPS unit and see where that gets me. I can hear things clicking in mine during some diagnostics, so I'm not sure it's bad, but this is one of the less expensive / effort parts to swap. Really appreciate the help though.
