Default Evap canister removal

I'm probably grasping at straws to figure out whats wrong with my car but i thought i'd remove the evap canister and do the test as written up by billman here https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/851385-billmans-how-to

or do i even need to remove it? its on stands so its a tight fit.

does anyone now how to remove this line?

...so you squeeze the connector top and bottom, and it deflects into an oval shape, just enough to clear the tabs on the left and right which retain it. So squeeze, then gently pull off.
