Default Exedy hyper single and throw out bearing

I'll be installing my new exedy hyper single clutch kit in a week or two, but I can't fit the new OEM throw out bearing on the pressure plate. How do you guys fit it on? The spring fingers are longer on the exedy pressure plate making it harder to fit the throw out bearing on. Any ideas?

When researching this clutch, I read you have to install the throwout bearing backwards or opposite or something weird on the Exedy Hyper single. I forget what it was, but there's a thread somewhere on here about someone having the same problem.
I'm pretty sure I'm going with this clutch as well, let me know how you like it once you get it installed

Follow the following procedure then you shoul dbe able to get it out.

1) Remove the pressure plate

2) Take off the clutch disk

3) put a 2 or 3 pieces of 8mm block between pressure plate and flywheel then bolt it back down.

After that the bearing should drop down and unbolt the pressure plate then you can get it out.

AJ, is it true that with this clutch I need to install the throw out bearing backwards? Seems that if I do the throw out bearing would be in the way of the disc.

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a try.

I forget what I read, but I remember a post right after saying that if the throw out bearing goes on then it's the right way because there's only one way for it to fit. Believe AJR before me, there's a ton of hearsay on forums, but AJR know what they're talking about

I'm aware of AJR's reputation. After 5 min I got it on. Thanks AJR! Thanks for the concern to you as well Jakup. I know lots of people have had misc. problems with this clutch.

That's what worries me. Is this going to be used on the street? I'm looking for some feedback on this clutch of someone who actually daily drives their car.

Just an observation: we joined S2Ki on the exact same date

I'm running the Cusco version, basically the same clutch made by Exedy. During my install I fortunately had MaxRev and our Friend K that could read Japanese.

As for DD, having the 6 puck sucks. Going reverse sounds really bad and I still stall every so often. It's also not the best or Ideal clutch if you live in the city where there are lot of hills.

But for track use, I LOVE IT. Solid engagement. When it gets hot, it feels better.
