if it's cat-back, you "should" be re-using the OEM studs and nuts at the cat flange, no?

Aren't the 5 bolts to put the rest of the system together?

It came with 5 bolts and nuts, so i figured that i replaced the oem with them, but i'll just be using the oem it...

My point is the 5 bolts might be for the rest of the system. Did the exhaust come in more than one peice? If so then they are likely for holding it together at those points.

I've not worked woth the Invidia exhaust but have had the OEM and other brands off and on a number of times, you won't want to mess with those studs unless you have to.

Quick question, did your Invidia come with a gasket for between the stock cat and the Invidia midpipe? Thanks.

Yes the invidia came with the gasket between the cat and mid pipe, as well as a gasket from the mid pipe to the mufflers... I didn't fiddle with the OEM cat studs, and as for the "extra bolts"

it takes two bolts to hold the mid pipe to the mufflers.

and there for the cat to mid pipe, i had 3 left over bolts as i used the oem bolts.. :/

The cat has 3 bolts welded to it. All you need to do is remove the nuts on the bolts. It seems as though there is always one that is cross threaded on there. Also use some sort of nut grease to help it come off. Then you reuse the nuts to put the invidia system back on.

I just used the new invidia nuts, they were the same size and all... None of mine cross-threaded so lucky me tooks tons of liquid wrench and some elbow greese to get the damn top one off the cat :/ All and all it was a good learning experience, and sounds great now i'm definately happy with the results
