Default Exhaust question.

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions about how to tell if your exhaust system is a-ok!

How do you know if the exhaust system is old, other than visually looking at the dull piping/mufflers?

Do exhaust systems become louder as they are used for longer periods?

Can they lessen performance as they get older?

What is droning exactly, and why does it happen??

How do you know if the piping was messed with?

If the owner previously had some sort of forced induction, can that change the exhaust too?

The reason for these questions is that i'm thinking of purchasing a used exhaust system, and I see that people put how many miles that have been on it. Just want to know what I should look out for...

I know it's a lot of noobie questions, but I just want to make sure that i'm getting a good deal. Thanks for your time guys.

I don't think an exhaust can lose performance and the only problem you can have with a used exhaust would be if it was rusted through or the piping was cracked. Fi would cause no changes to the exhaust what so ever.

Just be careful when checking for leaks, make sure the tailpipe is cold so you don't burn your lips.

Install/removal is easy enough. Buy it and hook er up. If you don't like it, remove it and get your money back.
