Hey Guys,

I was driving through the canyons this weekend and while in 2nd gear most of the time at around 6k-7k RPM when I would let off the gas pedal I would hear a spluttering sound coming from the exhaust... not sure if that is normal or not... wonder if anyone know whats causing that.

But when I drive and rev through all the gears I don't hear it at all, just when I'm constantly at 6k-7k RPM and let off the pedal. Thanks

possibly just back pressure build up from the exhaust just coming out.

 

Backfires?

 

^^ Maybe... but then it wasn't that loud and my friends behind me didn't see any smoke or anything. It it were backfires, is there any negative affects to the car?

 

You are fine, Mine does that with HKS and Test Pipe.

If you're all worried, take it to a dyne, they'll dyno it with a Wideband and be able to tell you if you're running too rich in those specific RPMs under light load.
