EZ ON Cloth Top Install
With the DIY on the sight and the install instructions that came with the top there are some varying views that i need clarified.
I will be install my soft top tomorrow! hopefully I can get it done in a day with S2ki's help!!
1) i have an 06' does the DIY on this sight to replace the plastic soft top with a glass window soft top still useable on my car?
2) In the instructions that came with my top, it says I need to use concrete cement. Is that necessary?
3) Is it really necessary to remove my seats to install the hard top?
4)Are there any really crucial steps that the install leaves out that i need to remember?

I recently installed a Robbins glass top on an 01. I have built a swapped Honda before, but was nervous to do this install. A lot of members say it is a real PITA and will never do it again. Well, it is truely a PITA but not so hard. You will learn a lot as to how the top is mounted/secured as you are removing the old one.
1. I believe the DIY will be close. Only big difference should be securing the top to the sliding rails. Since the 01 never had a glass top, the frame sliders are different.
2. I did not use cement. I chatted with the girl at the fabric store and picked up the strongest glue that was made for fabric and plastic.
3. You dont have to remove your seats... However, I would put money on it that you will find the install easier without the seats. It is a total of 8 bolts. Don't risk damaging your seat climbing in and out.
4. The DIY did not leave me with any questions. Considering having a buddy or family member easily accesible. You will see their value as you do the install.
Good luck!

When I bought my top it came with this video. Biggest help ever. Made it 50x easier since its STEP BY STEP.
Do yourself a favor and get this to avoid potential confusion/hassle. Yes the contact cement is necessary or some adhesive alternative.
My advice...
remove your seats (10x eaiser + its only 4 bolts each),
take your time/dont rush it,
take it step by step,
use dixie cups to separate the different nuts & bolts (number the cups w/ a marker so you know the order you removed them)
get an assorted size for rivets (you cannot reuse the old ones)
get the elastic straps (necessary since the top wont fold correctly w/o it)
trickiest step to me is the 'adjustable screw driver' usage (youll know what im saying)
call a close friend for some extra help then buy him some premium beer after
get as much lighting as you can since youll end up working at night
play some electro/house music to keep you working

And oh yeah, dont give up. Take your time and dont get frustrated. It will all be worth it when your done
