Default EZ-on Soft top installation

I'm in the process of installation the Ez on soft top with glass windows. But I'm stock in one step.

How the strap goes? i know one end goes to the #2 stud.

Sorry for the crappy pics.

If i understand the crappy directions, the other end goes to the last bar. 6in from the little rail. That's where i'm stock. So the strap just hang there.

NOTE: the EZ-on top does not comes with any rivets for the installation, just the 2 straps, i'm using Cyclon36 DYI as a guide to isntall the top

Hey, when I did mine...I just connected it to that frame. Drill holes, get your own rivets..my HTG oem one came with TWO extra plates for the riivets...which were then used to attach the strap onto it. Its not THAT important for finishing the top...its to make sure that 2nd rib thing (that it attaches to) stays up...so what I did was I kinda guestimated where to put the straps...it works great. If you makea mistake, you can easily just get a new strap anyway..

OR, you could finish everything, then carefully poke two holes after measring the top..and hopefully not slip off that rib and poke a hole in your new top..

Thanks a lot. I'm finishing my top today. i know where the other end goes, in the instruction says thet the bar need to be 24" , but from where? from the lowest point of the truck floor?

HOw comes ez-n don't use a double strap to hold the bar in place like robins top?

Im not 100% sure. Thats why I suggest just hooking it all up, and then doing the strap last- so you can make the top look correct. If you install it wrong the bar will be in the wrong position adn the top will look a little fuunny, thats all. I just eyeballed it, and made sure both side straps were the same length. My top came out fine.

Ive never seen a ez on or a robbins, just used OEM...lolz sorry.

Sorry for the delayed response....

The strap is used similar to an AP2 style top. It's not a bad system and actually works quite well if the measurements are done properly.

As you have figured, one end of the strap goes into the 2nd bolt stud on the rain rail (at least I'm pretty sure it's the second one). The other end gets attached to the rail closest to the back of the car just underneath that pinched in looking area. I took a quick pic of the inside of my OEM top so you get an idea of where it suppose to go.

I also took some measurements so you have an idea of where the bars are suppose to sit. I can't guarantee that these will work on an AP1 but I would imagine that they should be the same.

The distance from the corner of the rubber trim that goes around the top opening to the first bar is 22.5". The distance from the first bar to the second bar is 8". These measurements are from centerpoint to centerpoint on the bars.

Good luck.
