Default F20 vs. F22

2001 S2000 - Florida. Will an F22 motor fit where an F20 used to be? Is the only difference the .2 liters internally? Know of a respectable place that sells used engines?

Thanks

Yes, it will fit.
LKQ has had a number of engines on eBay recently. (just not today)
do this search on eBay: "HONDA S2000" "LKQ Online"

does anyone have a quote for a f22C crank?
How much differnce is the f22c's rods compare to the f20c?

Check with Jeff at hardtopguy.com. I bought an F22C from him a couple of months ago. Yes it will fit in place of your F20. Redline is lowered about 1k, but RWHP and torque are higher.

Lot's of existing info on S2KI about the swap.

The F22 block has a clearance cutouts at the bottom of the sleeves so you have to duplicate that if you want to just swap in crank & rods. There is a parts bulletin that warns about part mixing between blocks & internals, so it appears there is some type of tolerance issue beside the rod clearance one for parts/blocks made before/after 2004 production.

You can get a copy of the bulletin at your dealer if no one has a copy that they can post.

I haven't gone 2.2 yet because I'm trying to figure out the tolerance issue. If someone has successfully gone 2.2 from a 2.0 block (pre 2004 production), I'd like to hear about it cause I have the crank & rods.

Actually, the rods on the 2.2 are shorter than the 2.0 All Honda did was lengthen the stroke. To do that with the same engine block, and my understanding is that they use the same engine block, the rods would have to be shortened to keep from trying the shove the pistons through the cylinder head.
