I have a 2006 and. I am trying to put a f20c short Block in my car with 06 head. I have the motor in the car wen I go to start the car. Its won't start rite away it cranks a few. Times then starts. I was getting a cel for p0339. That's with the 2006 crank angle sensor. And I put a ap1 crank angle sensor and. I would get a code for p0335 Any ideas. To fix ..I know my timing was a. Lil. Off but. I change that. Like 4 times already am not able to get the time perfect

 

Has the head or the block been milled?

I would go back through and make sure that the trimming chain, cam gears, and crank are perfectly aligned at TDC.

It should look like this....



You might have to rotate the crank a bunch of times to get the 2 colored links to match up with TDC.


If that doesn't work then I don't know....

we're missing a bigger piece to the puzzle...

timing was a little off? timing is either on or off - nothing in the middle. check it again.

how did you manage to put an AP1 crank sensor in place of the 06 one? i realize they will both bolt into place, but i thought the harness plugs were different.

oh, and you did remember to not only change over the crank sensor to the 06, AS WELL AS the crank trigger wheel, yes?

 

well the timing if off but would that really make it throw a cel for crankangle sensor ?

welll with the ap1 sensor i took the clip off and put the pins in my harness for now to see if it works

and as the crank trigger wheel i called honda and ask for part number on both 06 and a 01 and it was the same so i would think it would matter should it

 

trigger wheels are NOT the same between 00's and 06's. the 06 cars utilize different sensors, and the trigger wheels are also different.

here are the 06+ part numbers...

Crank sensor 37500-PZX-003
Crank wheel 13622-PCX-013

if you do not use those sensors the 06 ECU will not run the car correctly. the trigger wheel is located behind the timing cover. you will need to drop the oil pan, remove all pulleys, and the timing cover to get to it. once you're in there it's a piece of cake - it just slides right out. make sure you don't lose the keyway in the process

do you still have your old motor? i know you mentioned you re-used your head. even if you blew a hole in th eblock on the old one you can almost always reuse the trigger wheels - not too much can happen to them

 

yea still have the old block the rings were done in one cyl i had really bad piston slap

 

so yank that timing cover and take the trigger wheel off it!
