Default F20c questions.

Hi there.

I'm doing a f20c install on the stock ECU, in a 1959 Ford Prefect, and we've just got the engine in and and mounted

I have a couple of quick questions.

I'm thinking about running a single Bosch 044 for for my fuel needs, will this be adequate for a stock engine? I had a quick scan around, but most of the related topics were for forced induction builds running twin 044s.

Secondly. I'm in Australia, and am not planning on running the Air Pump, from what I've been reading on the JDM/UKDM s2000, you can replace the air pump with a single transistor. If I remove the Air Pump set up from the manifold, add a blanking plate, and plug the unneeded line. Will I be able to but a transistor along the Air Pump wiring?

Cool build you got going there
What kind of engine management are you going to use? An after market ecu like AEM doesn't care about the air pump.
If you are keeping stock ecu you can replace the air pump with a 12 ohm ~20W resistor, but there are some small things I think you need to keep.
Like the air solenoid valve.

I'm planning on running the stock ECU, mainly because I have it, and I'm trying to do the car on a set budget (which I'm sure will blow out, but I can dream).

Get an izze engineering air pump simulator.

Wires in to the ecu wires, bypasses the system and all its components.

No CEL.

Correct, an IZZE simulator will NOT work for your application. I'm not sure why Honda changed it between the two markets. Makes me wonder what exactly is all different.

I'm sure someone on the boards has found a way to bypass the system, or at least the light so that your CEL will still work if/when something else goes wrong.

Pretty neat build. Do you have more pics of the car? If so, you should start a build thread in the appropriate sub forum.

I've got a thread on an Australian classic ford forum.

I would make a thread here, but I'm unsure which forum to put it in. The Automotive Builds thread seemed to be just s2000s from what I could see.

Any insight in to the fuel pump? Would running a single Bosch 044 from/in a surge tank in to a stock engine be adequate for my fuelling needs?

The single Bosch 044 should be more than enough. The s2000 pump outputs around 200ish LPH and 70-100ish psi. The 044 outputs around 300 LPH and ~75psi. Should work for as long as you stay stock. Stock FPR keeps the rail at 65psi max FYI.

I'm probably going to be after a bit more advice as the build comes together, with intake length/piping, radiator requirements and wiring the car should be a fun experience
