Default f22 block with f20 head?

Hi Guys,

Just got a quick question. It is possible to use the f22 bottom end with the ap1 f20 head right? And still have my ap1 wiring harness for all the sensors and my ecu? I'm going to be swapping blocks soon and I'd rather use an f22 block sense they improved the oil delevery on them but I wasent sure if I'd need to swap out the wire harness and ecu. I don't think I need to but just wanted to get some insight to be sure. Any help is appreciated.

the f22 head will go right on the f20 block and you can run all your ap1 harness's and ecu as long as you only swap the head.. the valve covers are different i'm pretty sure. and get something to tune it with to be safe. VAFC-II or aem ems if you got the money.

You got it the wrong way around FASTSIIK. He wants to put a F22 block on an F20 car. I was thinking of doing this myself but the F22 block was considerably more expense through honda so I just got a new F20. The F20 head will swap right onto the F22 though no problem if that is the route you want to go.

Two point...

1. The F20 block and F22 block are exactly the same. It is the crank, rods and pistons that are differant, not the block.
2. The F20 head and F22 head are exactly the same. It is only the cams, springs that are differnat, not the heads.

The wiring harness is the same, only the 06+ harness was changed.

I know this thread is old, but with an '08 f22 block can it work...The engine i've found is from an 08 model with low miles. What else would I have to change?

The wiring harness, the cam and crank sensors and the 06 and later heads are not machined for air injection ports.

so, if I was planning on using the ap1 head would it work, or will I have to find an 04-05 f22c to do this?

edit: should I just use the entire f22, and put the ap1 cams on?

thanks

If you use just the short block of the 08 engine you will need to change out the crank sensor with your old one. Everything else should be fine.

It will be a lot more work to use the entire motor. The head has lots of minor differences and won't run the air injection system which would give you a continuous CEL and you wouldn't pass emissions.
