Default Fender VIN doesn't match car..

So I never realized my AP1 has a front right AP2 fender! It even has a VIN number of JHMAP2XXXXXXXXXXX, WTF. The color is slightly different and the gap between the door and the fender is wider than the driver side. Is this a sign of frame damage or does the AP2 fender fit a little differently than an AP1 fender?

fenders are the same, the door or fender probably needs to be adjusted

DIY? Loosen the bolts. Put the fender in the right position. Tighten it.

Frame damage can be detected by looking at it. The car might have just been in a fender bender or have needed a fender at some point for a million possible reasons.

If the front bumper and door have matching VINs I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Really, you bought an older used car. Somebody just bought a used fender in the (more or less) correct color.
