1. I put a rivet in the hole for one of my latches. It was stripped but is now very secure.

2. For the rattle I use a little bit of folded over electrical tape in between the latch and the striker.

3. Zip-tie them down.

^^ I got my hardtop recently and I didn't even think about zip tying the soft top latches that's a great idea mine like to rattle a bit as well.

On another note how come we haven't seen a pic of it on yet? Your car already looks great i bet it looks $$ with the hardtop on

I'll definitly zip tie or use a rubber band on the soft top latches, good idea!

As for pictures, I'm still cleaning the inside of it and it's wrapped in carbon vinyl. I'm going to have it painted before posting more pictures!

Zip-tie. I used rubber bands at first and the heat/sun rotted them and they stuck to the latches.

I don't wanna hijack this thread or anything but is anyone putting down something over the soft top with the hard top installed to keep the sun off it to prevent fading?? I haven't yet and the back glass is tinted, but I have a brand new soft top and want to keep it in tip top shape. I wasn't sure if the sun would have any effect or not .

Sorry Fernando hope you don't mind me asking!

I had mine with no tint on the hardtop for a while now and haven't noticed any damage to original MY05 soft-top. However I have been contemplating making a custom cover for it. Similar to the oem tonneau cover but not covering the side-catchers. Figured some decent black vinyl cut to fit and laid over will do. I've heard of people cutting their OEM tonneau cover fit, but I have never seen pictures to confirm their claims.

Reporting back with my final verdict.

1. Got the missing screw! I sourced it from the hardtop menu, P/N: 93600-06020-0G

2. No more massive rattles that feel like the top is going to fall off, just some slight latch rattle over massive road imperfections. Again, when I apply some light pressure it stops. I'll have to play around with it.

3. Zie ties do wonders.

4. No issues there, just lack of knowledge.

5. After inital cleaning, misting with vinegar every few hours and Lysol lemon wipes, the smoke smell is pretty much gone. I'll just bundle up on the Hybrid Racing air fresheners.

Thanks again guys for all the help.

Now it just needs to be painted.

Looks good Fernando, I like the black top with the black windshield tape. Good to hear it is working better now.

I tinted my oem hardtop window with a dark heat reflecting tint ( I think it was called Solargard tint) to help reduce fading and sun damage, I don't think I need anything else.

Thanks man! Still planning on having it painted and keeping the windsheild tape.

there was someone that was making a cover that you could fit while the hardtop was on. Can't remember if it was a vendor or a member though.
