What oil should i use? What oil filter? Should i change any other fluids?
Or should i just buy Honda's Oil and filter? Thanks

I only use OEM filters with Mobil 1...but thats just me.

And as far as how long to wait...well that depends on how you drive it between the intervals. I normally go by look honestly. I know when I track the car, I can see the change in the oil after a weekend at the track...typically I go 3000miles

General consensus is to not change the oil until 3750. Also, do not switch to synthetic oil until you reach around 10k miles. That allows the engine to break in properly. Some of us use a molybdenum engine break in additive at the first oil change to aid in this process. I use Honda OEM filters. Any quality (name brand) motor oil of the correct viscosity will be fine in your car.

Beware - asking people on the Internet about oil change intervals and oil brand preferences is just slightly more controversial than asking about religion.

3750 as per owners manual. non synthetic until 10k. synthetic after 10k. OEM honda filters. good recipe.

3750 miles and stay with dino oil until at least 10,000 miles.

There is one difference.
It is possible to do a series of UOA's to prove your point.
Even if I would post pictures of me walking on water.. nobody would believe me.

Then there is the advice by Honda (pg. 107) "Do not chage the oil before scheduled maintaince time".
I took this literally and did my first change at 5975. There have been hints that the breakin in oil is a special formulation.
I repaced with dino oil which I will next replace with synthetic at 10,000.
I'm not going to tout this routine as "the way" but just another viewpoint
that may or may not be of benefit.
