Hey, dont have my manual here on me at work, and cant find a good thread.

how often do you guys change your fluids?
i.e.:

Oil, tranny, diff?

Hell, lets throw in air filer and micro filter too.

 

First, I don't go by the book. For some intervals, it's just too long in the book.

engine oil and filter - every 3000 miles (and that's only because that translates to 5000 KM for me and it's easier to remember).

tranny - annually because it's easy for me to do at home but if your tranny is not giving you any issues, then every couple years is fine.

diff - also annually, but the original fluid should be dumped withing the first few thousand miles.

air and micron filters - should be checked annually, changed if required. I have a re-useable JR and I clean it annually.

Don't forget brake and clutch fluid. With average mileage, I do these every couple of years.

Note that if you track the car or drive it really hard most of the time, most of these changes should be done more often.

my intervals for all my S customers....
First dif....3k (it will be quite dirty) 10k thereafter
Trans...15k
engine oil...3k
first clutch...3k....10k thereafter (helps alot with clutch disengagement and gear grinds/shifting)
Brake fluid...2years

 

Do you all recommend 3000 mile engine oil intervals even when using synthetic oil?
