It's not very hard just have to have the right tools like with any job.

If you guys aren't looking to go 04 retainers and go for titanium retainers, I am pretty good about supertech stuff and almost always have them in stock:

LOL, that's not a dead end street. It's a private road and parking lot.

There is a tradition at CCR that has to be honored when one of the CCR cars gets new tires. The "events" usually draw a crowd of customers, cops, and the curious, and everybody has a good time. Basically all the cars that are getting new tires get to burn up whatever is left of the old tires before they're replaced. Ryan Renolds started the tradition with Tripper Cooks R33, and initially I thought it was one of the dumbest things I'd ever seen. Now that I have seen how good it has been for the business I've realized that we make more than enough off the "events" (in free advertising) than it can possibly cost us in breakage, and I've actually learned to enjoy frying the back tires off my car before replacing them. (Click here or here to see more of the stupidity. )

One of our fellow S2kI members recently noted that many things have to be a little stupid to be cool, and I think this falls into that catagory. We put on a heck of a show, everybody has a good time, and our customer base gets a boost, so dumb or not, it's cool enough.

I terminate squirrels, because the local variety has learned to eat automotive wiring harnesses.

Sorry Mike; If I'd remembered who said it I'd have been more than happy to give you credit for what I consider to be a profound observation.

the reason for the springs cracking is because the spring rate is too stiff for the retainer..i had the same problem on another motor i built and stay with stock retainers...

Haven't seen any cracked springs on S2000s yet.

The reason the retainers crack is because the valve train gets hammered during an over-rev.
