Default Found an engine

So my bearing didnt fully spin, but it was griding down against the crank.
Sourced a new engine from a guy a few hours away. He is sending me the paperwork on it.
Its an 07 JDM engine with 28k miles imported through Canada from a company through Ebay.
Had good compression across the board.

That being said, is there anything I would need to know about dropping it in? Specific things to be aware of?
My intent is to use all the existing parts off my block, water pump, ecu, etc etc etc.

My goal is to get myself back on the road as quickly as I can and then deal with the existing block and either part it out or fix it up/build it.

Pretty straight through swap but I would not use anything on the old crank. Sounds like your thrust washers are gone/worn

Yes indeed. The new piece is a full long block and the old block will be parted out (head, intake mani, etc) or it'll be redone with a new crank, rods, etc. Maybe a stroker kit or something.

I'll buy your head if it's still good.

I'll keep you in the loop once I get to that point. After I get the block out I'll be cracking into it to make sure the cam journals are unharmed.

I've been researching this a bit also. I've read about issues with the VTEC oil pressure sensor that isn't on the JDM engines causing VTEC not to engage (possibly requiring using the US oil pump and solenoid ). Can't remember if that is the F20 or F22 though, maybe someone more knowledgeable than me can chime in.

Keep us posted on the progress, and any other issues you encounter. With the very limited availability of replacement engines, this may be an option for others in your boat.

Hey Aaron, sorry to hear about your misfortune. I cant recall exactly, but didn't you purchase an AP2? A 07 JDM motor would be a F20C 2.0L? I would try to get your hands on a 2.2; if you need any help finding one, you can text me. Good luck bud.

Thanks Hiep. If this falls through I will let you know but I think it'll be OK.
It's a 2.2. JDM went to 2.2 in 06+

To put on a MY05 or earlier, it may need the crank position sensor swapped out.
