Default Front center jack point.

How far from the font bottom lip to the front center jack point?

looking for a low profile floor jack and considering i can't get under my car right now, i could use a hand.

I know an omega blackhawk jack would work, but would a pittsburg 2 ton work too?

Harbor Frieght

thanks

i have this, and it will reach it but you still have to go on smaller ramps to clear it all the way. i have my 1.5 ton aluminum to assist and lift the car so i can get to the center jacking point without rubbing my front lip.

I still have to pull up on 2x4's to get this jack under the front jacking point, and even had to pull on 2x4's in the rear when I had an invidia exhaust.

I personally hate my Harbor Freight jack, but I may just have a bad one. Releasing it with the knob is very sketchy.

You get what you pay for with jacks. I have an OTC 1532, which retails for around $250 and even it isn't that great although it's been working fine for me for several years. I have to drive up on 2x4s to reach the front jacking point since I'm lowered 1.5". I can reach the rear, but not when the front is already jacked up, which is the proper way to do it. I've been through a couple sub $150 jacks and they've all been pieces of shit.

I've had the cheapest Harbor Freight aluminum jack for four years now, still working fine.

Bad luck of the draw for me perhaps. Jacks like that always seem to leak for me. Or the hydraulics stop retracting. Or some other malarkey.

Chinese quality control probably isn't the best. Therefore I'm sure plenty of bad apples make it through with the good ones.

I'm not too low, maybe only an inch or less from OEM height. But I still have to use the two-jack method to get the front of the car up on jack stands. Jack #1 goes under the driver-front jack point to give Jack #2 enough room to get under the front of the car and reach the subframe. You'd have to find a pretty long and low jack on a lowered S to get all the way to the subframe without some help from the side jack point first.

Are you saying to get the car on jack stands first you have the drive the car on to 2x4s or 2x6s or 2x8s etc.?

Probably depends on whether you are lowered and/or do not have a low profile jack. I have a stock/not lowered MY'02 and my HF 1.5 ton low profile jack fits under it without having to drive onto any boards, etc.
