Front end noise

Fwiw, besides loose suspension components, a blown damper will make this noise - its the damper hitting its stops because there is no hydraulic pressure any more. Check the dampers for signs of fluid leak.

A lot of you guys mentioned a clunk, pop, or a metalic sound. I had this after I upgraded my front sway bar. My end links looked fine when I replaced the sway bar and then I noticed the same sound you guys are describing. After some trail and error I figured out that it was the end links. Once I replaced them, the sound was gone. Rockauto has them for really good prices.

I ran across an old thread last night while searching for a solution to this problem and found one that stated that the front subframe bolts, 6 of them, could be somewhat loose and needed to be retorqued. I was actual able to give all of the bolts a full turn to turn and a half before reaching the torque setting.
I came home from work, jacked the front up, crawled under and retorqed per helms manual. 19mm=85lbft, 17mm=43lbft.
Note: On the newer models the six subframe bolts may all be 19mm.
Took the car on a long slow drive over uneven surfaces (with the top down to hear) drove about 12 miles and so far as of yet no more popping sounds. Even went over RR tracks a couple of times.
My popping noise occured at 15-20mph or less.

Ok, after reading all comments on this article I solved a problem at least on my car that was exhibiting similar problems with front end noise: a squeak or metal on metal rubbing noise coming fairly consistently from the front of the car. I have been searching on a solution for my S2K1 on this since I purchased it with 82K miles in July15.
Try this simple solution before doing anything else as it may work for you: fully lubricate the hood front latch, both the square striker attached to the hood and the locking mechanism mounted on the car cross member that locks it in place. Also dab a thin coating of lubricant on the two rubber pads that are located on the two ends of the cross member that are the hood support stops.
This fixed the problem 100% for me and now my car goes down all types of roads with out a rattle or squeak.
If that doesn't do it I suggest trying the other ideas on this thread.
