Default Front Fender Liner

I'm sure this topic has been killed to death but the search wasnt giving me what I was looking for.

I have minor rubbing issues on the front fenders. I was wondering what have you guys done to allow more clearance. I have seen the whole cutting back the liner method but I'm not interested in that due to posible damage to the fender itself over time.

Thanks in advance.

depends where and why you are rubbing? cause you are slammed really low or cause you have some funky offsets on your rims? if it's cause youre too low perhaps raise it up a bit..

roll the fenders or add more negative camber are pretty much the two solutions you will come across. have you gotten an alignment recently? you can run the UK specs with maybe a bit more negative camber front & back like -1.5/-2.5. you will wear out the insides of your tires quicker this way though.

yeah Im on the UK specs. Camber wont help much. They rub just on the out edges of the liner. They rub the clips a bit too. But not to the point where the clips come off all the time. It takes months for me to loose a clip. As far as the raising the car, not going to happen. I'm on Eibach spirings over Koni Yellows. The Koni's are close to its full stiffness on the front. You think a coilover would help this considerably?

with your alignment already set.. it seems like if its pushing out that far the only way you are going to alleviate your problem is raising the car up with a different suspension setup, or getting different rim offsets or tire widths.

are you on the lower perches of the koni shocks? perhaps raise it to the upper perch if you aren't there already. seems more like an offset issue though than a "lowness" problem. getting your fenders rolled is probably the only thing thats gonna work.

Right which comes back to my original question. Haha. Can you really "roll" the front fenders? What has people done to the liner to create more clearance? I've heard that you could take a heat gun to the liner but you can't push it in very much. BTW the Koni's are on the highest perch.

not sure you'd have to ask them.. but i wouldnt do it if you had to take the liner off. read rijo's advice in that thread.

Tuck the fender liners above the metal tabs and the fender lip
