Default fuel gauge problem

ok, so tonight i go to fill up the S.. when i get to the gas station i have 4 bars of gass left.. i fill it up until its full according to the gas pump with 9.5 gallons or so.. i go and start up the S and the gauge only reads like 3/4 of the way full.. so i'm like WTF... i try to put a little more gas in tank thinking maybe the pump's sensor was messing up or something, so i take it to a different station and try..but it wont fill up any more.. and slowly over probably a 10min time span while i'm driving around the fuel gauge starts to fill up and finally read completely full. anyone know why this happend???

perfectly normal. gas gauges can fluctuate on all cars. there is no problem.

I had a similar thing happen today as well. When I filled up all the bars were there. After 8 miles, it was down two bars. After 28 miles it was down 4 or 5 bars--about 3/4 tank. So I was thinking, air bubble? I went to a station and put in about 2 gallons. After a while the gauge crept up but not all the way.

The car has been sitting in the garage for 3 weeks because of the crappy weather here in southern WI. I am thinking some sort of vapor lock in the tank?
