Fuel Injector Cleaner
Costco currently has Tekron Fuel Injector Cleaner on sale (50% off). The package directions say to put it into an nearly empty fuel tank, then fill with fuel. Supposed to clean out fuel injectors. Does this stuff really work, or is it snake oil?
My BMW buddy swears by it (he runs it through his tank before he dumps his oil for his usual oil change every few months).
I'm doubtful on how helpful it is, but if there were any on the market that weren't snakeoil, I'd lean towards the Chevron stuff.
There's plenty of serious (and not-so-serious) discussion of Techron and PEA at BITOG:

I've used it for over 20 years and have never had to replace a fuel injector in any of my cars. Some had over 250k miles all on the original injectors. My '06 S gets a bottle about every 8 to 10 tanks of gas.

Just a heads up for anybody reading. Costco ONLY sells the standard "Techron" injector cleaner, not the "Concentrate Plus" version. The one most people talk about on BITOG or other forums is the Concentrate Plus version. Basically the one that Costco sells is watered down and is a waste.
If you want to give your car a good cleaning, I would recommend something with lots of PEA. That is the active ingredient that helps clean up the fuel and intake system. From what I've read the Chevron Concentrated Plus, Redline SI-1, Royal Purple Max Clean, and Gumout Regane High Mileage all has tons of PEA in it's formulation.

I don't see why you can't run a higher dose of the "normal" stuff. However, to note, Chevron maintains that if you use their gas, that you should not need any of this extra stuff since they already lace it with these detergents...
It works (in the proper concentration as mentioned). It can undo some problems if they aren't too bad yet, but works better as a preventative.
Ironically their abilities to resolve issues is what is the most compelling evidence of their worth. Yet its their largely silent activities that are their forte.

get the techron concentrate fuel system cleaner from Walmart.
What are peoples thoughts on Top Tier gas vs adding some additive? I imagine it's similar to running a small dose of techron through every tank. I've not run any techron or other fuel system cleaner through my TSX with 200K and it still runs like a clock but I always look for gas stations listed as Top Tier when I fill up for what it's worth.
