A stock S2K runs rich, so the V-AFC is able to increase power by tricking the ECU into providing less fuel. An FPR would really only be usefull for increasing fuel. They would be working against each other (on a stock setup). FI setups require more fuel, so they sometimes use an FPR to increase flow BEYOND what they really need, then use a V-AFC to take the extra back out (fine tune).

No. Unless you install a turbo or super charger, you already have more fuel than you need.

 

So in general, a V-AFC is a good addition to any s2k it sounds, because if you're stock you're running too rich already.

I ask a car performance shop before, and they told me that i would gain MORE hp if i had the FPR then if i didn't....thats not true? So i shouldn't waste all that money to get the FPR and get it installed hu?

 

Of course they're going to say that. They are in the business of making money. They want to sell you that Fuel pressure regulator.

 

From the looks of things the emanage would do a better job of tuning than the VAFC and it appears to be easier to use.

It also can control the timing.

Now you would be set should you get the bug to add boost later.

 

Not worth the money from what you get out of it.

agreed - an FPR alone on this car won't do much at all. The ECU will still do everything and that's tunable by a VAFC or an ECU replacement.

But on cars like a Mustang an FPR - yes, it will increase performance. This car is not straight forward with which gains will gain the most power, so common speed shops aren't going to know what is right for this car, IMO.
