full synthetic oil
okay i just got an s2000 from an auction 2003 w/129000 miles.... im about to do oil change...i bought some penzoil ultra full synthetic oil w/ mobile 1 oil filter. Now I dont know what kind of oil the previous owner may have used... so would it be safe to go with full synthetic?
Should be fine to go with a full synthetic. Thats what most of us use. Stay away from aftermarket oil filters though. Go with the stock honda pcx and you are almost guaranteed to never have issue.

I use the Mobil 1 extended life oil filter since day one. No problems, you dont have to use the Honda brand. Also I use Castrol Full Synthetic. Car runs perfect. (65k)
PCX is the best.

OEM PCX filter is still good advice, based on the problems related to bad filters & oil starvation that people have had in the past. I don't have OEM on mine right now though I always have in the past, and I will be going back to it when I can pick one up at the local dealer (didn't have stock).

Run a good syn oil and a properly sized filter and you'll be fine.

The PCX is NOT fram. Now in us is Filtech, but with all the features of the original JDM. The s2000 oil pressure is higher than most cars and the fit uses a metal to metal final contact. Use the PCX.
