Default Gas fumes too strongI

I just bought the car and instantly noticed that the fumes from the exhaust are too strong. Literally, I would turn it on and let it sit for a couple minutes and it overwhelms my garage. Even as i drive, I can sometime smell it in my car. Anyone know what the problem might be??

Interesting answers.....lol.

Anyway, you should never have any exhaust smell in the cabin under any circumstances. If you do, you have a leak somewhere. Nothing to do with plugs.

you think it might be the HG? I don't see any signs of leakage in the engine bay, but I sometime see a cloud of blue/white smoke blow out my exh.

Get under the car an whiff around while it's running. But make sure it perfectly stable on two jacks at least. If the exhaust system is cold, and you act real, real fast, you can spray some real soapy water around and see if you see any bubbles produced. But in just a couple minutes, the exhaust will be too hot to do that.
