^ ^ ^ I NEVER try to let it run that low but sometimes three bars before te highway and boom it's empty. And yea sure it's easy to reset the gas mileage but this is an s2000 not just another Daily driver like my '93 Killa Camry , lol so pleaseeeee I don't Wana hear that crap and be called lazy for it.(no offense) but I agree that gas mileage is good way to see how the engine is performing.

Going to zero bars can overheat your fuel pump....
I've heard that argument many times, but I think it's taken too far. I never start looking for gas until my light comes on, and I have gone 30+ miles past no bars dozens of times. At 170,000 miles, I have never had a problem with my fuel pump. If you have evidence of your claim I'd like to read about it.

It's easy to drive closer to an empty tank, especially if you do a lot of highway driving. The gas gauge stays quite steady on the highway and I always look to see how much gas I put in the tank. If I fill up right when the last bar disappears, I can put around 11 gallons of gas in the tank. That means that I have a couple of gallons left.

I think you have to drop the tank to replace it.
Really?

As others have said and I can confirm... 0 bars means you have roughly 2 gallons of fuel left. The gas meter isn't accurate for a reason... so retards don't drive to 0 bars and run out of fuel 5 minutes later. The 2 gallons at 0 bars is a reserve supply... Honda mentions this in the owner's manual.

I've never need that type of accuracy in my gas.

You could get a scan gauge which would tell you the number of gallons in the tank. $150 on amazon.

My personal preference is never to let the tank go below half. I do this in case of an emergency. With this simple method I never worry about the accuracy.
Actually if you use a Scangauge on the S2000 it won't tell you the % of fuel left in the tank as far as I know...

it'S2klean, I see your problem. I've always searching a way for the accurancy too. my first 2 bars goes for lots of miles and the last 4 bars goes like a click. I have 12k on these 4 years and this happens at the first day. seems like I'm not the only one experiencing the problem here. maybe we should leave "comment" on Honda's facebook.

Interest on what it'S2klean look for too.

If you are city driving just wait till the gas light comes on. if you are in the highway just fill when ur tank is 1/4 full or less.
