Gearbox noise ????
Hello to the people with knowledge,
I have a little question to ask, as I think I got a problem with my gearbox or clutch,
When I travel at between 30k to 70km on 3rd and decelerating, I can hear my gearbox is making a lot of noise

I've got the same problem ! New modified clutch was installed and car was readay to drive but........ same story
My S2000 is a YM '00 with 62.000Km's and i have claimed this problem at the Honda dealership again. I am waiting for any respons by next wednesday. What i do know is, that there was a problem with some gearboxes also on the '00-'01 models, and i'll guess that i am the lucky winner of one...
Ask your Honda dealer and ask him about the gearbox problem and keep in touch ! I'll let you know what the answer will be of my problem !

This has been posted many times before but I think it's worth a repeat.
To say that this is a "problem" is inaccurate. If you read that PDF file that Heffergm put up, you will see what this noise is, how it starts, where it goes and why it happens. It is a characteristic of many of these cars drivetrain (specifically, tranny and clutch).
It is just a noise. It does NOT adversely affect the operation or performance of the car. Honda put out the TSB only to address those owners who do not like the noise. They supposedly put in a clutch disc that had stronger springs and in some cars, this "fixed" the noise. However, due to the specific calibration of the tranny's gear backlash on some cars, this noise eventually returns. All the customer got out of it was a free new clutch, which in itself, was not a bad thing.
I've got an '00. It is 3.5 years old and has had this buzz since day one. It has never bothered me and I never did anything about it. The car runs fine and I expect it will do so for quite some time to come.
This car is a pretty raw sports car compared to most cars on the road. It makes noises. Some will be good noises and some will be unfamiliar and thus, "bad" in the minds of its owners. You may not think that this is right, but that's just the way it is. I'm almost certain that the new Cadillac convertible will have no such noises.

Sometime the noise can be really loud after lower the gear and tap down on the clutch... I think i will take it back to the dealer before my warranty run out...
