Default Gearbox whine

I know there is a thread concerning this, I'd like to see about fixing this myself.

There is a rubbing sound comming from the rear of the gearbox. Its has been like this for some time and the car is running fine. I know this is caused by some damaged bearings on the shaft and there was a thread about this some time ago. Can someone point me in the direction for that thread please.

Have you listened to other s2ks? Most of them have very loud gearbox whine even at idle and in neutral.

No this isn't the when idle whine, you only get this when moving. It has been on the axle stand and was diagnosed as a problem with the rear roller bearings. Honda's solution was a new gearbox which they offered to pay I think 70% of the cost of. That would come to

mine has the same exact problem. Although not recommended, it is possible to replace the bearings without removing the transmission. I believe that the thread above mentions it. Again, it's not the 'proper' way of doing things since there will be shavings throughout the entire gearbox. I would take out the entire tranny to fix it if i had the right tools, time, and needed to replace my clutch but o well.

I know but I kinda cherish this car, everything has to be right else I get annoyed. I think a possible cause of the original problem was using Redline in the box. Especially as these bits are at the oil starved end.

Well I've found a replacement gearbox, similar milage for
