Default Great Mechanic in South East USA LHT Performance

Hi Everyone,

Even though I am from Ontario Canada, I had the good fortune to take my 07 S2000 to Florida this past winter.

My S2000 has had the usual minor maintenance done over the 12 years I have owned her.
I wanted to have a dedicated mechanic look after my S2000 and Billman was too far away.

If anyone is anywhere near Tampa / St Petes area you can't go wrong with LHT Performance.
The great team at LHT Performance Ester in the front office, John and George in the shop are very particular and know their stuff.

My S2000 was fully checked over and serviced professionally.
I can't say enough about John the owner and George his mechanic.

It was worth the trip and my S2000 is in top shape.

If you want a mechanic who is OCD and want them to treat your car like their own, these are the guys to go to.
They have some great videos on YouTube which is how I learned about these guys initially
LHT Performance

6330 46th St. N. Unit 111 ,

Pinellas Park, FL. 33781,

ps I was not asked to post this and I did not receive any monetary funds to do so.

I thought it important to post and support a company that cares about our cars.

Good to hear your positive experience. They're a pretty well known shop, as they run a youtube channel that uploads frequently. If you watch the channel, people ship their cars to LHT from all over the country. I have to say, just from watching their videos, i have a ton of respect for them. There aren't many shops that run like they do or treat customers like they do.

Good guys, good work ethic, very knowledgeable on S2000s. Only thing I can't understand is their continued peddling of the Kraftwerks supercharger kit. Especially more so the Skunk2 alpha header in conjunction with it.

I'm not a big fan of skunk2/kraftwerks, so i've had the same thoughts initially, BUT they seem like they try to stay somewhat objective. I've heard John say, multiple times, that they like the kit for the performance and because they are able to offer it at a good price. I assume he has a really close relationship with them and gets a good discount. He has also said many times that he's totally fine with installing other kits but he just doesn't sell much else because he can't be as competitive with pricing. Having that said, I believe he mentioned trying to get a relationship going with SOS so he can start to offer another choice for his customers.

Hi Everyone.

The title should say South East not South West lol

I am not a huge fan in changing an S2000 by doubling the horsepower either with supercharger of turbo.
But they do a great job on the regular maintenance stuff on cars that aren't modified.

The reason why LHT peddles the Kraftwerks kit with the Skunk2 header is because Kraftwerks and Skunk2 are the same company. They are giving LHT a package deal and LHT likely has better margins when offering this package deal.

Oh without question. I just think it goes against their mantra of them always talking about how they don't sell people on stuff they don't need etc. LHT of course vehemently claims that they're not in bed with Group A, but it just seems like everyone that praises Group A is getting free concessions. If I recall some YouTuber made a video about them a few months ago and visited their main facility....Lo and behold you have a guy pushing a cart out to this dudes car absolutely loaded with parts. I'm sure LHT gets the KW/alpha header combo for probably like 3-3.5k their cost.....

I don't have a personal vendetta against LHT, I know they're capable of good work, and very attention to detail oriented; I love their YouTube content. But their peddling of sub-par products is what makes me not respect them as much. KW has proven to not be reliable, and even LHT cars have suffered failures. You don't hear about stuff like that, but one guy I know has had multiple failures after having them do the install, and they basically shrugged him off and blamed the belt tension, just like everyone else.

Kyle said it well, I just wanted to ad that they hand tighten the oil filters.
John might be strong af and never had any issues with that but it made me loose a lot of interest in watching their content.

Just one thing I don't get. Maybe my geography isn't that great, but to go from Ontario Canada to Florida, doesn't one need to travel the entire vertical continental US? How is Billman too far? LI NY is only like a third of the way down.
