Default Grinding Sound at Start-Up

This used to only happen at random times, but now it seems to happen every time I start the car.
When I start the car, I get this grinding sound immediately after the motor turns over.

Should I be looking into replacing the starter?

Thanks for any input!

starter... tct... could be anything

a bad tct sounds like a playing card hitting the little spokes on a bicycle wheel that's spinning.

I've heard it on a few occasions myself.

Definitely doesn't sound like that. Sounds more like when you try to start a car that's already started.

Today I tried lightly pushing the starter button to start the car and the car didn't make the sound. Should I still be concerned?

Mine has started doing this recently too. It sounds like the starter is slow to disengage sometimes, and grinds. It's only random now, but I'm sure it will get worse and need to be replaced.

Probably the starter. I thought mine was the TCT originally but even after I changed it twice, I kept hearing the noise.

Happens to me mostly during starts on a cold morning.
