always was notchy.. but when i rip 2nd fast/hard from 1st it grinds. so i stoped doing it. never did that till tonight.

change your tranny fluid.
see if it still grinds.
My car used to get second gear scratch.

This is always more likely to happen when the transmission is cold. Changing the fluid (ensuring not to over or underfill), and practice double-clutching when the transmission is cold will help eliminate cold weather notchiness.

 

Mine grinds real bad in the winter time but after it warms up it's ok again. I'm going to try amosoil or redline next time.
