Hammered Alternator

Default Hammered Alternator

Well i recently installed a new alternator and had to hammer it a bit to get it in which i found out there was a sway pin...... well it cracked the casing a little and i went to autozone to get it tested the diodes were bad? was it cause of it getting hit? well im getting it replaced again with its warrenty

Don't hammer your alternator. If you do find a need to hammer it, use a wood block against the metal casing and don't hit it directly.
