Has anyone used the Fram Sure-Drain Plug for their Oil Changes?
I have a friend with an F-150 and I helped him change his oil this weekend. He's got one of those on his ride and the oil change was ridiculously easy, and there was no hot oil spillage either. Does anyone know of a reason to use these or not to use these on an S2K? If there's nothing detrimental about it, I'm seriously thinking about installing one on my next oil change.
Can anyone give a good comparison between the FRAM and the fumoto?
I have been looking at the FRAM every time i go to get oil and filter at the store... but had no idea if it was a good product, or just a gimmic. I bought a fumoto instead, b/c it seems like everyone on s2ki loves it.
I wonder which one is better.
PS: I heard FRAM oil filters are one of the worst out there (which is dissappointing b/c I love their grip)... can anyone confirm this?

I've got a Fujmoto that I had on an Accord years ago, and I just bought a Fram. Personally, I think they're both good. The Fumoto costs more and you need the adapter to fit the S2000 oil pan. The Sure-Drain requires that you store the drain hose. If you lose it, you have to remove the plug to drain your oil. The Fumoto is self-contained.
As far as Fram oil filters: They are known to have a flimsy construction. Fram uses cardboard endcaps (rather than metal endcaps used by virtually everyone else), and a plastic bypass valve. Their filtration is comparable to many other brands. They tend to get a bad rap because people that have dissected them feel that their construction is not as robust as other brands, and for the money there are some good, high-quality alternatives.
