Default Have you heard of HyTech?

It's a company that makes performance parts. My friend, Cosworth, linked me to a site which shows ITR header/exhaust. Claims they make quality stuff. Wondering if any of you guys know anything about them.

Yeah, i heard of them before.. They manufactured the best headers for the B series engines.. hp gains are more than DC and mugen.. comparable to Spoon, Toda , SMS etc...

No Naisho different coys

The USA version is definitely reputable - they do custom build exhausts and tuned length headers for many racing apps.

I suggested some time ago that these were the ppl to go to for the s2k exhausts.

I kid you not - arguably I would say one of the best.

yep i have heard a lot of good stuff about hitech system, i believe that they are located in orange county, irvine to be exact. i heard that their header, high flow cat, and exhaust combo give the ITR an extra 20hp to the wheel! i heard that they were lookin for guinnea pig s2ks a few months ago.... so maybe soon.

HyTech Exhaust=John Grudynski. He made me a header and modified most of my exhaust (everything but left the stock mufflers) when I first got the car. Lost 13 rwhp and took that sh!t right off. John talks a bigger game than he delivers, IMHO. If you ask him about his S2000 header, he'll tell you it neither gained nor lost power. What he fails to tell people is that it neither gained nor lost power when he ran his header with no cat or exhaust against the completely stock car. Kinda shadey.

Reverend,

Sounds like you're the guy to go to for solid performance mod info.

I posted on the Type-R forum and one of the dudes tells me that John's header for the S2000 didn't do well at all due to our ECU. Something dumped fuel and added lots of buildup, et cetera. Heard his shit was really expensive as well.

Moving on now.

John comes very well recommended but there are some caveats. I've seen one of his pieces and they are quite simply art; there's no other description. Probably the biggest problem is that, as with any exhaust design, it has to fall in line with the rest of the car. I'd daresay that John has little experience with the F20 and was probably shooting from the hip. I can't speak for anyone on the list, but I know that when getting any custom piece it has to be tailored to specific needs on a specific car; without something to work from I would think anybody would screw it up.

The only people I've personally known to order stuff from John have had to wait forever (and yes, it is expensive). I believe for a B16 or B20, though, there's probably no better source for exhaust or header work, especially custom.

Well-

I heard rumors that HyTech and Endyne were at "war" with each other- and I don't trust either one. I thought it was pretty funny...

HyTech always claims their header made more than the Mugen header on a B series motor, but why don't you hear about his exploits at the Speedvision Cup? For example, it's well known that Realtime Racing recently swapped the Mugen header with a 2 year effort development item- Gemini, the same guys who do the factory Harley Davidson AMA SB exhausts did the Realtime one- netting for their two year's of hard work, a measley 2 HP. That's a "full factory development gadzillion dollar" item vs. the-off-the-shelf-Joe-Privateer-can-buy-it-in-any-Mugen-affiliated-store part. Now, after hearing that, do you really think some guy who sells to the "informed" h-t.com people will really have the answer?

Consider that when someone "knowledgable" shoots their mouth off next time...
