Having major tranny problems
A few days ago I hammered my S from 2nd-4th gears. It slipped pretty bad on the 2nd-3rd and 3rd-4th shifts. I figured it only did it because I knew I had to change my clutch soon, since I was on my stock clutch and have 45k miles.
Well after replacing my clutch pp, disk, flywheel, and throwout bearing today to try and remedy my transmission problem, it didn't solve it. I also put in GM Synchromesh fluid.
It's really hard to get it into 1st. Even double clutching doesn't seem to help.
When the tranny is in neutral, and I'm not moving and I depress the clutch, it rolls forward or wants to die if I let out the clutch too fast! In Neutral!
The 1-2 shift is hard to do, but 2-3-4-5-6 are all OK.
Now another story is reverse. It's hard to get it into reverse, and when I do, when I slowly depress the clutch to start going backwards, it stutters really bad and barely moves at all, even if I almost fully depress the clutch. I have to rev it high (3-4k) and depress it kinda quick for the car to move at all. It may be that it's getting caught between two gears (reverse and 6th?). But there's DEFINITELY something with reverse because I've had the car for 3 months now and it's always worked fine, then all of a sudden a few days ago when I got on it and felt that slippage, it started doing all this.
I'm stamping my car undrivable. It can be drove, but reverse won't work, it stalls in neutral when I depress the clutch, and it's hard to get into 1st.
Help? :'(

That would make me think the clutch + flw + pp weren't installed correctly.
Any noises when you do that?

New brake fluid is usually amber and clear.
(there are colored brake fluids too.. but not brown IIRC)
Not that brown fluid is bad.. it means it is old.
To make sure there is no water (because brake fluid is hygroscopic) trapped in the system you could flush it.

...and it's a brown color so should be in good shape.

I just went out today and tested it from a fresh, cold start up. I had it in neutral and then I turned the car on. I let it warm up for a minute, with the clutch pedal pressed in still the entire time. I then released the clutch pedal slowly while still in neutral, and it behaved normally. If I release the clutch pedal swiftly while in neutral, there's a minor "clunk" I can hear after the pedal is released swiftly while in neutral.
I then placed it in 1st gear with relatively no effort. I slowly released the clutch and it rolled forward as normal. I then placed it back into neutral, and released the clutch pedal, this caused it to roll forward about a 6-12 inches, then come to a rest since I was on a flat surface. I could reciprocate this every time I released the pedal while in neutral. It'll roll forward about half a foot and then come to a rest.
I then placed it into reverse with relatively no effort, from neutral. I eased out the clutch and gave it a small bit of gas, and it stuttered really bad and died. Reverse is still messed up, I then tried placing it into first gear after starting it back up, and it wouldn't go in. So I let out the clutch because I was going to double clutch to get into 1st, and it wanted to die when I released it in neutral.
So it seems after putting it into reverse, it's what causes my neutral to wanna mess up. So anyway, I was able to quickly half-double clutch it, and get it back into first. It seemed that everything was OK until it gets into reverse, then it messes with neutral and 1st it seems after I get it back out of reverse.
Any more suggestions? It can't possibly be the fluid. It's acting as if it's caught between two gears when in reverse almost.

If the tranny was OK before the clutch install, it should be fine now, since you don't have to disturb gears or synchros to do a clutch change. So right now I vote for air in the clutch fluid line.
