Default Header Coating information

I've set up a "group" deal on the coating with JetHot. Attached will be some information i got for the coating. This deal is open to anyone that wants to get it coated. BTW used headers are fine as well, they will prep all headers the same way. The cost after 20% is $132 + return shipping. Headers are coated inside and out.

What will happen is I'll need to have name, address, contact number so I can send to Chris. I'll also be getting an ID which you will use to identify your package. Then he will contact you, or you can contact him, and pay him via your Credit Card. Payments will be handled individually as it's the easiest.

Plese let me know if yuo are interested.
So far, I've got:
Me
Schatten
12gage
9000RPM
P.0.S.2000(Mugen Header)

thanks,
-Shing

Dear Shing,
The sterling silver is the best coating for the heat reduction.
We can also do a flat black, blue or grey finish for $20 more.we dyno tested this coating and found a 20-25 % skin temp reduction. There were a lot of variation with
the under hood temps. We found with no air flow, the under hood temp dropped 40 degrees. With normal air flow, the temp dropped 300 degrees. The coating will not discolor, chip, peel or flake off.It is also very easy to clean with some alumimum polish.

We would fully coat the headers in&out.

Since this sounds like a GP(group purchase),I can set it up for a
20% discount. If you get 2 or more order, you will get the same discount.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks
Chris

Hate to be the devil's advocate, but since that heat isn't radiating into the engine bay, then it must be directed down the exhaust path, through the cat. It's my understanding that the way a cat works has everything to do with the temperatures involved, and this will raise those operating temperatures quite a bit I'd imagine... Does anyone know whether this would be detrimental or beneficial?? If it doesn't affect peformance/life of my cat, I might be interested in getting in on this.

Sylvain,

It will not affect the performance of your cat detrimentally. In my opinion you will help it. The catalytic converter needs to be hot... SUPER HOT... to be effective. I have had coatings on all of my cars and have not noticed a degradation in catalytic performance.

Actually it will help the cat... help emissions. Keeps heat in exhaust, lights up faster.

Count me in. I received my Spoon Header (from Mingster) but have not yet installed it. Have any idea of turn-around time?

FYI, in case anyone is wondering why you would insulate your headers: Besides lowering the ambient temperature inside the engine bay, insulating the headers will also keep the exhaust temperature up which helps it flow easier than colder denser air. Easier flow = less backpressure = you go faster. Neat trick, and it probably looks pretty cool too...
